Redhead ambition: X Factor 2010 star Cher stepped out with dyed red hair curled into ringlets and teased into a Mohican style do in South Woodford

She was recently named the most talked about new celebrity of the year.

And clearly Cher Lloyd is trying her best to help it remain that way as she stepped out with a striking new hairdo.

X Factor 2010 star Cher stepped out with dyed red hair curled into ringlets and teased into a Mohican style do.

Copycat: Cher wore a curled up-do which was very similar to a style once worn by singer Rihanna

It was very similiar to a head-turning look sported by singer Rihanna, who memorably performed on the show late last year.

And like Rihanna, Cher has experimented with a series of looks during her time on the X Factor, and even reportedly clashed with the show's stylists.

The 17-year-old singer recently topped an internet list drawn up by media agency PHD based on Google searches, Facebook mentions, Twitter followers and YouTube views.

She beat X Factor rivals One Direction and even the winner Matt Cardle to top the survey.

How high can you go: The pinned up Mohican was also dyed red, like idol Cheryl Cole's was recently

Cher was seen arriving at club Funky Mojoes in Essex for an appearance, one of a number she has done since leaving the show.

Although she has been playing to smaller audiences that she has been used to, it seems that may not remain the case for much longer.

The young singer has also been tipped for serious chart success alongside will.i.am. who has revealed the pair have made a single together.

The Black Eyed Peas star tweeted: ‘The day after the last xfactor…cher loyd (sic)and I went in the studio and made a mega smasher.’

He also posted: ‘@CherLloyd hey cher, when should we release the song we recorded in London???...(It’s a smasher)

Private agony: Ronnie visits the grave of her son James after the Moon and Slater family head home for 'Tommy's' wake

A guilt-ridden Ronnie Branning arrives alone at the grave side of her dead newborn son James.

Having left Kat and Alfie Moon to believe their son Tommy has died, she arrives at the grave site alone after the burial.

The EastEnders character who has endured a miscarriage, and the death of her daughter, swapped her child James, who died of cot death, with the Moon's son.

And although terrified of being found out, Ronnie still hasn't come clean over the true identity of the dead baby.

New mother Kat was left devastated after discovering her 'son' Tommy had apparently died of cot death.

Unaware her real son is actually alive and well and has been swapped with Ronnie Branning's dead newborn James, Kat is struggling to come to terms with her loss.

And in this sneak peek of next week's episode, it appears confused Ronnie still hasn't come clean over the true identity of the dead baby.

Still believing it was her son that died, a heartbroken Kat (Jessie Wallace) is seen cradling 'Tommy's small white coffin at the funeral.

Heartbreak: Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) carries the tiny coffin of what she believes is her son Tommy - unaware it is really baby James Branning

Supported by husband Alfie (Shane Richie) - who is not the baby's father - the pair prepare to bury what they believe is little Tommy.

Ronnie (Samantha Womack) switched the body of her own son James with Tommy's at the Queen Victoria pub as the New Year's Eve party was in full swing.

With Kat in hospital recovering from giving birth in the pub cellar, her father Charlie Slater (Derek Martin) was supposed to be looking after baby Tommy.

But as Charlie slipped downstairs to see in 2011, Tommy was left alone upstairs - meaning no one saw disturbed Ronnie switching the babies in a blind moment of panic.

As she comes to terms with the death of 'Tommy', Kat will blame her father Charlie for not looking after the newborn properly, prompting his exit from Walford.

Martin, who is leaving the soap after 10 years of playing cab driver Charlie, said the cast found it incredibly difficult to film the storyline.

He told the News Of The World: 'Filming the scenes was exceptionally heavy going. It was traumatic for everyone involved because we are all parents.

'Anyone dying is bad enough - even more so when it's a child.

'It felt like emotion was pouring out of my mouth.'

Womack also said recently how harrowing she found filming the storyline and found herself repeatedly crying.

She said: 'I couldn't stop crying when we were filming the scenes where Ronnie finds her dead baby. I couldn't switch off when I returned home every day.

'What Ronnie has been through is such a crushingly awful thing to even pretend might happen to you. I actually felt ill having to portray it.

'We used an expensive silicone doll, and it was so lifelike it upset a lot of people on set. We had to stop and take a break because it was too much.'

Destroyed: A stunned Ronnie Branning (Samantha Womack) struggles to comprehend what has happened moments after swapping the babies

The BBC insists it has been working with the Foundation for The Study Of Infant Deaths (FSID) to make the storyline realistic.

In a statement sent to viewers who have complained ahead of transmission, bosses said: 'We do appreciate that for viewers who have personally been affected by sudden infant death syndrome this storyline will have particular resonance.

'However, EastEnders is a drama which explores many difficult issues, and as you would expect, inevitably these do sometimes touch a nerve with some sections of the audience.

'We have sought guidance and advice from the FSID, as well as speaking to parents who themselves have lost babies through cot death, to ensure that our portrayal is as sensitive and realistic as possible.

'It's true that Ronnie has had an extremely tough time of it already. However, just as in real life this doesn't preclude her from further tragedy.'

The death of one-day-old James is the third time tragic Ronnie has lost a child.

After being forced by her late father Archie (Larry Lamb) to give her baby away when she was teenager, he later told Ronnie the little girl had died.

It was only at Archie and Peggy's wedding in April 2009, she discovered he had hidden the truth about Danielle Jones's (Lauren Crace) identity from him.

Just moments after finding out the local teen was her long-lost daughter, she was devastated to see the youngster being fatally knocked down by Janine Malloy's (Charlie Brooks) car.

She also suffered a miscarriage the same year after her evil father Archie violently shoved her into the bar at the Queen Vic.

• The funeral scenes will be screened on BBC1 on Tuesday 11th January at 7:30pm.

At peace: Pete Postlethwaite seen at The Chelsea Flower Show last year, has died following a lengthy battle with cancer

Veteran British actor Pete Postlethwaite, best known for his roles in films Brassed Off and In The Name Of The Father, has died aged 64.

Mr Postlethwaite underwent treatment for testicular cancer after being diagnosed with the condition in 1990.

Journalist and friend Andrew Richardson said the star passed away peacefully in hospital in Shropshire yesterday following a lengthy illness.

The 64-year-old star of Hollywood blockbusters Jurassic Park, and The Usual Suspects had continued to work until recent months despite receiving treatment for cancer.

Last year, he appeared in blockbuster Inception and gritty film drama The Town and his last film, Killing Bono, is set for release in April.

He was treated at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and recently paid tribute to the staff there, telling the Shropshire Star: 'They have been wonderful and I am grateful to them. I cannot thank them enough for everything that they have done for me.'

Leading the tributes, his actor friend Bill Nighy said: 'I was honoured by his friendship - he is irreplaceable.'

Career changing: Postlethwaite starred alongside Oscar-winner Daniel Day Lewis in 1993 film In The Name Of The Father as Giuseppe Conlon

Hollywood regular: Postlethwaite starred alongside Gabriel Byrne, and Stephen Baldwin in movie classic The Usual Suspects

Stephen Fry wrote on Twitter: 'The loss of the great Pete Postlethwaite is a very sad way to begin a year.'

Former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott said: 'So sad to hear of Pete Postlethwaite's death. Brassed Off and The Age Of Stupid had a real effect on me and our Government.'

Writer Neil McCormick, who worked with the actor in his last film Killing Bono,
wrote on Twitter: 'RIP Pete Postlethwaite. We were privileged to have him in Killing Bono when he knew the end was near. Such a sweet, funny performance too.'

Mr Postlethwaite, who was made an OBE in the 2004 New Year's Honours List, was once described by Hollywood director Steven Spielberg as 'the best actor in the world'.

They worked together on The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Amistad.

Family man: Postlethwaite with his wife Jacqueline Moorish and their children William and Lily at the 2009 premiere of his film The Age Of Stupid

Friends in high places: Sophia Loren kisses Postlethwaite during a photocall for their 2002 film Between Strangers at the Venice Film festival

To which Mr Postlethwaite responded: I'm sure what Spielberg actually said was, 'the thing about Pete is that he thinks he's the best actor in the world"'.

The actor has appeared in a string of box office hits including In The Name Of the Father, The Usual Suspects and Baz Luhrmann's Romeo And Juliet.

The Warrington-born actor started out by touring pubs in a theatre group with then girlfriend Julie Walters. And his screen work began with bit parts in Coronation Street, Minder and Casualty.

He worked steadily, taking small roles in Last of the Mohicans and Alien 3 before landing the career-changing role of Giuseppe Conlon in the 1993 film In The Name Of The Father.

His portrayal of Conlon, whose son Gerry was wrongly convicted of the Guildford Four pub bombings, earned him an Oscar nomination.

A role in The Usual Suspects followed, before he played the priest Father Laurence in Baz Luhrmann's modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.

Other hits include British classic Brassed Off and Spielberg epic Amistad.

The actor lived with his wife of seven years Jacqui, and his two children, William, 21, a drama student at LAMDA, and daughter Lily, 14.

He modestly laughed off Spielberg's famous quote saying 'it sounds like an advert for lager and it's only one man's opinion'.

So close: Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough take a stroll along the beach in South Africa, where the couple have been celebrating New Year

Just last week, she denied that she was dating - but Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough apparently showed off their love with a public kiss as they celebrated the New Year in South Africa yesterday.

Dancing With The Stars professional Hough, 26, and the X Factor judge, 27, looked closer than ever as they walked along an idyllic beach near their villa in Cape Town after they had welcomed in the New Year at a house party.

Wearing a yellow satin asymmetrical dress at the bash, Cheryl had looked glowing and happy as she danced with Derek.

Hough has also reportedly bought the 27-year-old X Factor judge a £10,000 diamond bracelet as a love token.

Utah-born Hough whisked Cheryl away for a week-long break to mark the end of a year which the Girls Aloud star judge has described as 'the worst of my life' after she divorced from Ashley Cole and almost died from malaria following her visit to Tanzania six months ago.

The pair are staying in a luxury beachside villa in the Camps Bay resort a few miles outside Cape Town and saw in 2011 at a £1million house party apparently thrown by American property mogul Preston Haskell.

It was there, in front of the assembled revellers, that the couple sealed their love with a passionate kiss after toasting each other with champagne as the midnight chimes rang out.

The Sunday Mirror reports that a source close to the couple said: 'Cheryl and Derek are together and don’t care who knows it.'

The party, which featured trapeze artists, acrobats and dancers, was held at Haskell's mansion in Fresnaye, overlooking Cape Town's Table Mountain.

It's also said that Derek held Cheryl in his arms as they watched a firework display explode over the skyline.

The pair arrived in South Africa on Wednesday after Cheryl spent Christmas with her family in her native Newcastle.

After spending two days at the One And Only Hotel in Cape Town, the pair then transferred to a private rented villa on Friday.

Talking to Alan Carr on his Chatty Man show last week, Cheryl insisted she was still single following her divorce from Chelsea and England player Ashley, 29.

She said: 'I've had no time. A lady doesn't talk about these things.'

Cheryl and Derek first struck up a friendship in 2009 when he appeared in the video for her single Parachute.

After allegations of her ex-husband's racy text messages were published last February, Cheryl jetted to Los Angeles to seek solace with Hough.

During her interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in October, Cole praised Hough for saving her life for recommending she get a blood test when she began to suffer the initial effects of her malaria.

She said: 'He's an amazing, amazing person... I can never repay him for that (saving my life).

'I am not confirming or denying anything. People can think he's my boyfriend, people can think he's my best friend.'

Glowing: Amanda Holden, pictured in London's Soho on December 21, and husband Chris Hughes are expecting their second child

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is pregnant with her second child.

The TV presenter/actress, 39, announced she is expecting a baby boy in March with husband Chris Hughes, 37.

But Holden also explained she waited so long to announce her pregnancy after she tragically suffered a miscarriage last year.

The couple, who married in December 2008, are already parents to daughter Alexa, aka Lexi, who turns five later this month.

Writing on her Twitter page today, she said: 'Just to let you know. I am 6 months pregnant with a baby boy!! Have had to keep it quiet until now!'

A statement from her publicist said the couple are 'absolutely thrilled'.

Her publicist Alison Griffin added: 'They say they cannot wait to welcome the new addition to their family.'

In a statement on her official website, Holden revealed her secret heartbreak last year after losing her unborn child.

It read: 'Amanda Holden and her husband Chris Hughes are delighted to announce that Amanda is 6 months pregnant with their second child.

'Their delight is increased by the fact that last year she tragically lost a baby.

'As they are sure everyone will understand they needed to get the all clear from the doctor before they shared their very happy news.'

Doting mother: Holden with her daughter Lexi, who turns five this month

Sending his congratulations on Twitter was her former Britain's Got Talent co-judge Piers Morgan: 'OK - Amanda Holden's pregnant...

'She's 6 months pregnant too - how the hell did someone so indiscreet keep that a secret so long? Very excited for her and Chris.'

Her pregnancy comes in a busy year for Holden - she starts judging the new series of Britain's Got Talent this month and is set to play Princess Fiona in the new West End production of Shrek: The Musical, when it opens in the Spring.

But Holden today insisted on Twitter her pregnancy wouldn't affect either commitment: 'I'm still doing BGT and Shrek the musical.'

In an interview last year, Holden admitted she had started getting broody.
She said: 'I'd love to have more children.

Big announcement: Holden revealed she was expecting a boy on her Twitter page

'I'm 39 so I'd be very lucky, I've got lots of friends who have waited too long.

'If it happens it happens. But I'm blessed with one.'

At one point, Holden suggested she was prepared to try surrogacy if she couldn't have children.

She said: 'I can't see where I'd have time and I worry all my eggs will dry up. Some of my friends are struggling. Maybe I'd do a Sarah Jessica Parker.'

The former Cutting It actress married music executive Hughes at Babington House in Somerset in December 2008 after a five year courtship.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2004, but delayed their wedding after Holden fell pregnant with Alexa, who was born in January 2006.

Previously, Holden was married to comedian Les Dennis - 18 years her senior.

The couple split in 2002 - three years after Amanda's brief affair with Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey was exposed in the press.

Svelte: Clare Nasir was looking pretty in purple on a night out in London yesterday after losing all her baby weight, right, pictured in July

She's weathered the indignity of having unflattering pictures of her trying to lose her baby weight - but Clare Nasir has clearly hit a purple patch if these pictures are anything to go by.

The London Tonight weathergirl, 40, showed off her honed figure in a racy purple off-the-shoulder jersey dress.

The 5ft star weighed 12st 7lbs when she gave birth to daughter Sienna prematurely in November 2009, and weighed 10st 4lbs when she was photographed in her bikini.

She now weighs eight stone and wears size 6 clothing after losing 12 inches off her belly.

Striding out: The weather girl was wearing a tight crochet frock and nude heels
Nasir recalled: 'Seeing pictures of yourself looking like a lime green blob is a pretty good incentive to lose weight.

'I wanted to lose it quickly - as well as safely - and after four months and lots of sweat, I’ve lost nearly 3 stone in weight and an amazing 12 inches off my belly alone.'

Explaining her workout DVD, she enthused: 'Boxers in training burn around 8,000 calories a day, and with this combat style workout we calculate you’ll burn up to 1,000 calories every time you do it.

Pain for gain: The star's tough workout and diet regime has not only led to a trim figure, but an exercise DVD too

Happy couple: Clare was on a rare night out with husband, BBC6 Music DJ Chris Hawkins

'That combined with our amazing 5-meals-a-day diet will help you drop weight fast. If you follow the routine 3-4 times a week with the diet you could lose up 4lbs a week, which is incredible.'

Clare's workouts include kickboxing, lengthy runs, using weighted exercise balls and completing exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups on an inflatable balance ball.
