She bounced into the music charts singing about being able to ‘do it like a dude’ and revelled in dressing like one too with her jump suits, spiky jewellery and clumpy Doc Marten boots.

But pop star Jessie J has now ditched her trademark look, which she has admitted makes her look like a ‘cartoon character’, in favour of feminine couture.

The 24-year-old unveiled a dramatic wardrobe transformation when she performed a gig at London’s Roundhouse venue a few days ago.

New direction: Jessie J has reportedly stopped working with her old stylist and is now under the guidance of Reggie Yates's brother Cobbie

Wearing a shimmering Vivienne Westwood dress offset with matching strappy sandals, the singer couldn’t have looked more different from her edgy style of old.

She had also replaced her trademark stiff, black bob with flowing Hollywood-style hair extensions.

And neutral coloured make-up was applied in place of the heavy black eye shadow and overly bright lipsticks for which she is famous.

It is believed the 24-year old has decided to freshen up her style team and has parted company with her long-term stylist Karl Willet.

Growing up: The singer is now sporting a much more feminine look and has ditched the pale make-up for a full body tan

Mr Willet was in charge of Jessie’s wardrobe during her stint as a judge on the BBC talent show The Voice. Most recently, he also styled her latest music video: Lazerlight.

Stepping into his shoes is up and coming fashion expert Cobbie Yates, who is the brother of The Voice presenter and radio DJ Reggie Yates.

The Price Tag singer hired Cobbie after meeting him on The Voice, where he was on set to dress his brother Reggie, who co-hosted on the BBC talent show earlier this year.

New look: According to a source close to Jessie, she wanted the chance to grow and felt she looked like a cartoon character before

And it seems the new stylist is already working his magic with one fan congratulating him on Jessie's new look, to which he replied: 'thanks baaybe! It's not hard, she's a dream! miss you! X'.

Friends of the singer say that although she has worked with long term stylist Karl Willett for a while, she felt the time had come to reinvent herself.

The friend said: ‘Jessie has worked with Karl for a long time but she decided it’s time for a change and she gave him the elbow’.

Mr Willett is said to have put out an email last week confirming the pair had parted company, after long running rumours in the industry of a professional rift.

All change: Cobbie Yates was congratulated on his fine work by one of his Twitter followers

Earlier this year, the quirky star revealed that she had grown tired of her style and was keen for a change.

Speaking to Grazia magazine, she said: ‘I started to look like a cartoon character with the fringe and the cat suits. Yes, I want to change and mix it up. I want to change my hair, change my style. I want to be allowed to grow’.

And in the interview Jessie also admitted that she thinks her block black hair colour is a little too much.

Mission accomplished: Jessie looked the best she ever has when performing at The Roundhouse, last weekend

She said: ‘Maybe I’ll dye my hair a pastel colour or plum. I am thinking this black is too harsh’.

Last month it was reported that the singer would not reprise her role on the judging panel for series two of The Voice.

The Domino singer is believed to have quit due her forthcoming UK tour which is said to clash with filming dates for the second season of the BBC One talent series.

Mail Online contacted Jessie J's representatives for comment but they are yet to respond.
