But Nicki Minaj has tried a brand new shade in a new photo shoot for Paper magazine.
The zany 29-year-old singer turned green for the cover of the fashion publication's Spring 2012 edition.

Running her fingers through her emerald curly locks, the Super Bass star also shows off her curves in a pastel-hued range of attire.
For sorbet-inspired inside shots, Nicki's usual fairy-floss coloured hair is paired with a matching low-cut dress, which shows off plenty of her cleavage.
The look is completed with a lemon-coloured fitted blazer.

For the cover, the wardrobe is reversed and the singer is seen in a bright yellow dress and melon-coloured jacket.

She told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Kiss FM this morning: ‘I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I mean I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it just seemed negative.’
She added: ‘It’s one of those things it’s such a teenager…irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.’
Meanwhile, in an accompanying interview with Paper magazine, Minaj revealed that her style icons included Grace Jones and Cyndi Lauper, which is unsurprising given her quirky fashion choices.

'Grace Jones definitely. So amazing. And Cyndi Lauper, I loved her right from when I was a little girl,' she said. 'And Janet Jackson of course. And Boy George. I always loved the way he dressed, and his music too.
She also admitted that her guilty pleasure was reality shows such as Mob Wives and the Real Housewives franchise.
'I love Big Ang — what is that? And I love the way those girls talk to each other: “Don’t YOU be coming at ME!!!” I love every freakin’ moment,” she said of Mob Wives.
'And I watch The Real Housewives of Atlantaand Beverly Hills. Taylor and Adrienne and the girls.'
