Curves ahead: Kelly Clarkson performs at the Sony press event in Las Vegas in a clingy bandage dress

It has become a tried-and-tested trick for celebrities on the red carpet.

Last night, Kelly Clarkson poured her curves into a clingy bandage dress to perform at the Sony press event at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The singer, 29, wore the popular Herve Leger style that promises to hug curves in all the right places.

And the tight blue dress certainly worked hard to contain her curvaceous figure and give her a slimmer silhouette.

The bandage dress has become a staple for stars including Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lopez, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Kelly chose a royal blue sleeveless one, which retails for $1,350, to appear at the convention, where she belted out hits including Mr Know It All.

The Miss Independent singer has turned to the style before, most recently wearing a gold version to perform on X Factor USA in November.

Kelly looked like she was having a great time on stage, flirting with CEO and President of Sony Corp. Sir Howard Stringer as he introduced her onstage.

She was joined at the event by Justin Timberlake, Ryan Seacrest and Will Smith, who were all invited to introduce new products to the press.

Miss Clarkson has been on a promotional spree in recent weeks, performing on Saturday Night Live and at the Allstate FanFest in New Orleans.

Kelly's profile is on the rise again, as she confirmed that she will make a guest appearance on the next season of The Voice.

The singer will join her good friend and The Voice mentor Blake Shelton as part of his team.

The arrangement may have been made when the pair partied together over New Year's with Blake's wife Miranda Lambert, who is also scheduled to guest-mentor, and his co-star Adam Levine.
