The best advert for her own collection: Victoria Beckham showed off her post-baby body in a figure-hugging dress of her own design as she headed out in London yesterday

She took home the prestigious Designer Brand of the Year prize at the British Fashion Awards earlier this week.

And it's not hard to see exactly why Victoria Beckham has made a name for herself as one of Britain's foremost fashion designers, when she wears her own designs with such aplomb.

The stunning mother-of-four was spotted showing off her post-baby body in a royal and navy blue outfit from her latest collection as she stocked up on some more clothes for her gorgeous baby daughter Harper in London yesterday.

What about this one? Victoria eyes up coats, dresses and a variety of winter clothes for her four-month-old

Gushing about her new tot at the awards on Monday, she said: 'Harper is absolutely amazing... but I am in love with all of my children. They are all wonderful.

'She has been upstairs in the hotel suite tonight and my parents have been babysitting her. I am missing her already.'

Ever the trendsetter, Victoria teamed her latest outfit, which featured her now signature zip down the back, with a sky-high pair of heels, huge sunglasses and a chic clutch bag.

And it seems four-month-old Harper is set to follow in her mother's very fashionable footsteps, judging by the adorable coats and dresses Victoria splashed out on in the Caramel baby and child store in the capital.

Style over comfort: Victoria didn't let her restrictive dress and sky-high heels stop her from bending down to pick up some footwear she had spotted for her little girl

That comes to how much? Among the items Victoria appeared to have purchased for Harper were a £45 pair of Chinchilla Mitts gloves and a £150 Terapin baby coat

Among the items Victoria appeared to have purchased for her little girl included a £45 pair of Chinchilla Mitts gloves and a £150 Terapin baby coat.

Even Victoria's husband David revealed in a recent interview that Harper is already the proud owner of an ever-growing wardrobe, telling Us Magazine: 'She has so many little dresses.'

The LA Galaxy star also revealed that Victoria isn't the only one who has been treating Harper to new items, adding: 'I didn't realise how excited I would get over buying hair bows.'

Since her birth in July, Victoria has been dressing Harper in the trendiest children's wear, with brands favoured including Stella McCartney, French label Bonpoint and Marie-Chantal - a children's clothing brand owned and designed by the Crown Princess of Greece.

Victoria also splurged on a pair of £30 Chloé tights for her adorable little girl last month.

But if Victoria's rumoured plans for a line of children's clothing collection go ahead, it won't be long before Harper is decked out head-to-toe in apparel designed by her talented mother.

According to sources, Victoria has been sketching early designs on the collection, and is firmly fixed on producing a line of children's clothes that will reflect her family life.

She is said to be keen to set the ball rolling as soon as possible.

'Now Victoria has a family of boys and girls she wants to reflect that in her fashion work and produce a line of clothes for children too,' a source told Showbiz Spy.

'In some of her down time with Harper Victoria has been jotting down drawings and coming up with ideas for kids' clothes that are practical but fun too.

'David is really excited about the line too and Victoria can’t wait to get going on the project.'

Victoria's designs were given the ultimate recognition earlier this week when she took home the Designer Brand of the Year prize at the British Fashion Awards.

Accepting her prize, an emotional Victoria broke down in tears before apologising to the star-studded audience.

'I'm so sorry for crying. I'm being so rubbish,' she said.

She added: 'I would like to thank the British fashion industry for your support. I'd like to thank my team, you all know who you are, your focus, your creativity, I couldn't do it without you.

'Simon Fuller, a dear friend and the best business partner that anybody could possibly ask for.

'My parents, my kids and my husband. Without David I wouldn't have had the courage to do what I am doing.'
