Back to work: Frankie Sandford is pictured outside the ITV Studios in London

Yesterday she was nowhere to be seen as her bandmates from The Saturdays revelled in the limelight in central London, where they switched on the Christmas lights.

But today a rather cheery Frankie Sandford was pictured outside the ITV studios in London under the cover of a hat and sunglasses.

The 22-year-old has been out of action for almost two months following an undisclosed illness, so her reappearance will no doubt be a welcome relief to fans of the group who will have been concerned for her welfare.

Frankie matched her grey trilby with a fur-collared winter cardigan, black jeans and a black vest top.

She smiled as she headed out into a waiting car which whisked her off to rehearsals with the rest of the group.

And her smile wasn't the only sign of her happiness at being back on her feet and in the public realm once again.

Frankie also took to Twitter to express her joy at heading back to work.

Missed you: Frankie tweeted to express her joy at being back to work with the rest of The Saturdays

She tweeted: 'Just been watching some of your get well soon videos. thanks for all the hard work messages! i shall be with my @TheSaturdays today!excited!'

Last night it was business as usual as Frankie's four bandmates lit up the Oxford Street with cheers from the waiting crowd braving the cold as they chanted for the pop princesses.

They joined Toby Anstis and U.S. duo The Pierces, who have already made a name for themselves in their native America and are trying their luck to win over an army of UK fans.

Festive: The Saturdays switch on the Oxford Street lights, but there is no sign of Frankie Sandford

Just like The Spice Girls: Rochelle revealed on Twitter it was a childhood dream to turn on the iconic lights

As Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Mollie King and Vanessa White flicked the switch, they kept warm in winter coats, teasing fans that they would remain covered up during their performance.

But the girls whipped off their jackets to reveal plenty of flesh to sing new single My Heart Takes Over, with Mollie, 24, daring to bare in a festive glitzy basque and a pair of thigh-skimming shorts.

Wrapped up warm: The girls opted to wear big winter coats rather than daring to bare in their usual attire

Mother-to-be Una, 30, showed off the slightest hint of a bump in a long black tasseled skirt from Missguided.co.uk, although her silhouette still looked svelte despite expecting her first child with Ben Foden in 2012.

She was preparing for the event by gushing on Twitter this morning, saying: 'So excited to be turning on the Oxford Street Christmas Lights with @tobyanstis later on today, such an honour. X'

Quartet: Vanessa, Una, Rochelle and Mollie seemed to hold their own despite missing their fifth member

Off with the coats: It wasn't long before the girls had shed their winter layers and were parading around in stage costumes

Bandmate Rochelle, 22, was elated that they were following in the footsteps of a certain homegrown pop act, saying: 'My childhood dream has come true woo (sic) x

'The Spice Girls turned on Oxford St Christmas lights and now we are tonight :) woooo @TheSaturdays'

Mother-to-be: Una Healy still looked streamline with a belt highlighting her trim waist even though she is expecting soon

Despite the absence of Frankie, the girls are hardly slowing down over the festive period.

This month they are scheduled to start rehearsing for their upcoming All Fired Up tour which starts on December 2 in Bournemouth and they are also preparing to release third album On Your Radar.

A tiny bump: Una still sported a trim physique despite being pregnant with her first child to Ben Foden

Spectacle: The Saturdays lit up London as Oxford Street came alive at the flick of a switch

Frankie, 22, was admitted to hospital in October, and although reasons were unclear, a spokesperson insisted the treatment had nothing to do with drugs, alcohol or cosmetic surgery.

Writing on her Twitter page today, Wayne Bridge's girlfriend said nothing of the Oxford Street extravaganza, simply saying: 'Just got my lovely little godchildren some beautiful clothes from @KlassMyleene for there birthday! I love Internet shopping.Cutest outfits!'

Crossing the Atlantic: Catherine and Allison Pierce have already found fame in their native America and are hoping to win over the UK public
