Where a finely-honed balance of affection and appropriateness normally rules wedding first kisses, TLC's new show, Virgin Diaries, delivers a brilliantly left-field version of toe-curling awkwardness.
From the newly-married couple's bizarre stance to their gnashing jaws, it seems that for this couple - who have never before kissed - there may be some long-overdue familiarising to do.
Theirs is one tale in the network's new series which launches this Sunday.

Is it in his kiss: TLC's new show, Virgin Brides, sees one highly awkward first kiss play out in front of cameras
The show's applaudably candid stars have chosen to abstain from sex because of religion or lifestyle - or have simply found themselves celibate not out of choice.
Taking a look at how the adults go about living as virgins in a society that heaps pressure in the opposite direction, the show is the latest offering from the same channel that has brought us the highly controversial Toddler and Tiaras, the curiously compelling Sister Wives and the almost unbelievable I Didn't Know I was Pregnant series.
A kiss is just a kiss: The adult virgins are just one couple featured in the new series, which premieres on Sunday
Fans of the Virgin Diaries' laudible subject matter aside, the sneak peak, aired two days ago, has already developed something of a cult following, with a YouTube clip of the first kiss clocking up nearly a quarter of a million views already.
While viewers are now debating whether the happy kiss is staged or natural, there's no doubt that it is not just the TV audience who find the kiss cringe-inducing.
Look away: One guest - possibly the bride's father - is seen burying his head in his palm as he laughs in embarrassment at the couple's kiss
Going, going, gone: The man makes sure his eyes are firmly diverted from the amorous couple, but other guests watch on awkwardly
At one point, we see a man - perhaps the father of the bride - bury his head in his hand in embarrassed laughter, while those around him watch on and grin in fascination.
How the couple's first night together unfolded is, until Sunday, anyone's guess.
Virgin Diaries premieres on Sunday at 9pm on TLC.
