Determined: Pat Sharp was chosen to take part in the latest Bushtucker trial entitled Headtrip
He have have come across as bitchy, but Pat Sharp certainly stayed true to his word.
The famous DJ completed his first ever Bushtucker trial in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here tonight and was definitely triumphant.
The outspoken 50-year-old bought back 11 stars out of a possible 12 and seemed rather pleased with himself as he boasted about it to his fellow camp mates.
'I don’t think anyone’s brought home that many from a Bushtucker Trial,' he said.
But he made sure that the entire camp could hear him recall his victory and stood by the Sin Bin to continue with his speech but it soon wore thin with some of the celebrities.
'How many stars did you get?' snapped Coronation Street star, Antony Cotton.
'One plus another one is eleven,' replied a delighted Pat.
But Anthony was still chuffed with the eighties star's win said in the Bush Telegraph: 'I was praying that he’d done well for food.
You're not alone: The DJ was joined by various jungle critters and baby crocodiles
'I wish Sinitta was here': The 50-year-old made digs at his fellow camp mate as he took part in the trial
And he said one and another one and I got a little bit impatient. He might be a berk but he still got 11 stars.'
Pat had ten minutes to make his way along the perspex tunnel where his head came face to face with various jungle critters including cockroaches and baby crocodiles.
He seemed relatively calm as he moved the yellow stars with his mouth along the top of the box and when Dec asked him how he felt about the bugs he answered: 'It's unpleasant, everything's unpleasant. I wish Sinitta was here.'
Collecting stars: Pat managed to obtain eleven of the possible twelve meals that was up for grabs
And when his ten minutes were up and he was told he'd won 11 stars, Dec told him: 'You'll go back a camp hero...in every sense of the word.'
'Well I'm still the panto villain,' he replied.
But it seems that was the role Pat was looking to play as him being chosen to take part in the Bushtucker trial wasn't just a coincidence.
The star claims to have planned to be voted all along and made sure it happened by upsetting Lorraine.
On last night's show when Ant and Dec announced that the public had voted for him, Pat shouted: 'Yes it worked. Scam!'
Facing his fears: Pat told hosts Ant and Dec that he didn't even notice the snakes as he tried desperately to get the stars
Eighties pop star, Sinitta - who had been failing miserably at the trials - was relieved to have not been picked and apologised to Pat.
'Don’t be sorry. It’s my plan all along,' he said.
He told the group that his behaviour towards Lorraine's cherished teddy bear, Tedward, was his way of playing the viewers at home so that he would vote for him.
'I behaved the way I did yesterday because I wanted to get the public to vote for me to do a trial,' he said.
A nice surprise: The former Fun House presenter was met with a shower of bugs as he pulled on the string inside the perspex boxes
'I’ve got a scam going at the moment which is why I went overboard on Tedward, not to make Lorraine cry, I did it to get a go at something, I’m not a nasty person.'
But not everyone believed his motive and felt that he was just saying it because he had been chosen.
'Now he’s decided "I did it on purpose so I got picked," well I don’t quite believe that,' said Antony.
'There's a good reason that he hasn't been on television for ten years,' he added. 'Because he's a massive k**b!'
'It's unpleasant': Ant and Dec kept asking Pat how he felt doing the trial to which he replied 'fine'
Benidorm actress, Crissy Rock, seemed to agree with the soap star and said: 'I hope it goes tits up for him.'
But whilst others understood their opinions, they still wanted to support Pat.
'He’s got a lot to live up to and he’s got a lot to prove because he’s got a lot of pressure on him today,' said The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright.
'You’ve got to know Pat to love him but I can see why people think he’s a bit brutal but he’s not. It’s just friendly banter and he speaks his mind.'
Getting the hang of it: Pat only had ten minutes to try and collect all of the stars in order to feed his fellow camp mates
Former glamour model Jessica-Jane Clement agreed with him and said: 'I think he’s like Marmite.
'You either love him or you hate him because there’s some camp mates in the camp that really didn’t like him and some that really do like him.'
On a roll: Pat has been voted by the British public to do another Bushtucker trial
But when he came back triumphant, it was pretty clear to see who was fond of him and who wasn't as Crissy didn't move from her hammock to congratulate him and instead turned her back to him and the rest of the group.
But the public are obviously impressed with Pat as they voted for him to do another trial- which he will face tomorrow meaning there's still time for him to win Crissy round yet.
