TOWIE on tour: The gang pose by a 1940s bus as they get ready to pile aboard (L-R Maria Fowler, Lauren G, Mick Norcross, Lauren P, Frankie Essex, Chloe Sim, Joey Essex, Lydia Bright, Billie Faiers and Kirk Norcross)
With the Indian summer hitting these shores this week just like everyone predicted, it was the perfect weather for a jolly day out in Essex.
But the short tight dresses, smart suits and high heels were nowhere to be seen as The Only Way is Essex gang got into something more comfy for their excursion.
Although we suspect Joey Essex might have taken the casual dress requirement a bit too far as he arrived for the day out looking like he should have been heading for army training instead.
Are we going on that? Shut up! The gang cheer and clap as their vintage ride pulls up outside the King William pub in Chigwell
The group also left their flash and expensive cars at home and instead boarded a 1940s bus for their sunny jaunt.
Although it was unclear where they were going, the gang, which included Sam and Billie Faiers, Kirk Norcross, both the Laurens and Maria Fowler, were in high spirits.
All aboard! Mick, Chloe and Frankie lark about as they take their seats on the blue and cream bus which was decorated with pink boas
What ARE you wearing? Joey Essex wore army fatigues and a red beret for the coach trip - and even had best friend Kirk questioning his attire
Are you seriously coming out like that? Even Joey's ex girlfriend Sam looked bemused at his choice of clothes
What? I look reem! Joey looked happy with his clothes - which he was probably told to wear - and even flashed a pout to the cameras as he disembarked the bus with sister Frankie
You won't be needing that, ladies! Sam and Billie smile and wave at their friends before parking the car and getting on the bus
Also on the day trip was Lydia Bright, who was without boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent who was off with best friend Mark Wright getting his hair cut.
Frankie Essex, who was introduced to TOWIE viewers during Sunday's first episode of the new and third series of the reality TV show, was also there, laughing at her brother's strange choice of attire.
Let's go girls! Lydia, who was minus boyfriend Arg, couldn't wait to get on the bus and looked ready for what could have been a country jaunt in her tweed cape and black wellies
Where are we? Sam looks around as she gets off the bus while Chloe gingerly disembarks
Even his good friend Kirk mocked him as he sat outside the pub in his orange combat trousers, green jacket and red beret.
But it was good to see him talking to his ex Sam Faiers after their awkward meeting during Sunday night's show at Jessica Wright's birthday party.
Chic and casual: Even in her leggings, Lauren managed to glam it up with a shiny logo T-shirt and furry handbag
They were joined by their cousin Chloe Sim, who had ditched her heels for Wellington boots but still managed to make them look glamorous with her sparkly black leggings and vest top.
And she wasn't the only girl to swap their mini dresses for jeans and flat shoes, suggesting they may have been going somewhere that involved a lot of walking, with Sam, Billie and Lauren P opting for skinny jeans and Converse sneakers.
Easy does it: Mick gives Maria a helping hand off the bus before she rushes to give her pet dog a cuddle
Even Lauren Goodger, who always looks glamorous, dressed down for the occasion in black leggings and trainers.
These scenes will probably be shown on the second episode, which airs on ITV2 on Sunday night at 10.15pm.
You're missing out on the fun! While the gang headed off on their bus trip, Mark Wright and James Argent went to get their hair cut
