Changing figure: Michelle has struggled with her weight all her life and admitted it takes time to accept pregnancy weight gain
She said: 'The first few months has been tough. It is difficult to lose control of your body. It hasn't been easy, especially when you've been in control for so long.
'You do have to get over that mindset of, "OK, it's not me, it's fat for the baby and the baby needs this," but it takes some getting used to, it's not easy.'
Michelle, who is now a qualified personal trainer, also revealed she struggled with her body issues when she was a member of the pop band Liberty X.

Tanned and toned: Michelle said today that Hugh had completely changed the way she looks at diet and exercise
She said: 'I was very uncomfortable in the band. My weight fluctuated continuously for the seven years I was in the band, and I was in there with two gorgeous, tall, naturally slim girls, and I battled with my weight a lot throughout my weight.
'But then I met my now husband Hugh in Ireland and he was a personal trainer and he completely changed my life. He introduced me to exercising, clean eating and a completely new way of life.
'So, over the course of a couple of years, I've completed two marathons and a triathlon and things are doing really, really well, it has been amazing and it has really changed my mindset on exercise and healthy eating.'
Interview: Michelle spoke to Carol Vorderman about how to stay healthy during pregnancy
Michelle, who is four-and-a-half months pregnant with her first baby, also spoke about how she is planning to continue her exercise regime throughout her pregnancy.
She said: 'I think it’s really important to continue exercise, and if you haven’t exercised before hand, go to a professional pre and postnatal exercise instructor and get an idea of what you can and can’t do, it’s really important.
'It keeps you healthy, it keeps the baby healthy, it gives you a really good steady pace for pregnancy and labour, and it helps things along the way…
'I think a lot of people have the idea that you should just have a sedentary lifestyle when you get pregnant, but it’s quite the opposite. It’s more beneficial to continue an exercise plan than not do anything at all.'
Uncomfortable: Michelle said she struggled with insecurity when she was in Liberty X alongside Jessica Taylor (right) and Kelli Young
Following her interview with Carol Vorderman, who is standing in for Lorraine Kelly on the show this week, Michelle took to Twitter to reiterate her message to her followers.
She wrote: 'For those questioning. I am a qualified personal trainer and recently in pre and post pregnancy exercise! I am not preaching to know it all.
'I am however preaching the importance of staying active and doing certain exercises to help in pregnancy and labour 4 u and baby!
'Every woman is different, that's why I said before staring anything you MUST go to a qualified trainer in pregnancy exercise! Keep safe girls.'
