Stylish: Victoria and David Beckham arrive for the Royal Wedding today. Victoria wore a dress of her own design while David looked sharp in a Ralph Lauren suit

Everyone has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Prince William and Kate Middleton for their big day.

But before the couple of the moment made an appearance, first it was time for showbiz royalty - to arrive.

David and Victoria Beckham drew huge cheers from the crowd as they made their glamorous way slowly into the Abbey ensuring everyone got a good look at their outfits.

As Victoria's spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline, the pregnant fashion guru wore a stunning midnight blue boat neck tunic dress from her latest AW11 collection, which she unveiled at New York Fashion Week in February.

Victoria had her hair tied back in a long ponytail and accessorised the outfit with a Phillip Treacy hat and a pair of specially customised Christian Louboutin heels.

However, the outfit was a lot more minimal than some had expected Victoria to wear for the occasion.

And there was no hint the dress may have been a specially-designed maternity outfit, as Victoria's bump was barely visible under the dress.

Meanwhile, husband David cut a sharp figure in a smart dark Ralph Lauren grey suit with a light grey cravat, and opted to proudly wear his CBE on his right lapel for the occasion.

He teamed the suit with black crocodile accented braces and personalised DB cufflinks worked in sterling silver.

But the effect of the smart outfit was somewhat ruined by the fact Beckham's neck tattoo was clearly visible underneath the collar of his shirt.

Victoria has been associated with numerous designers over the years, famously taking to the catwalk for Maria Grachvogel at London Fashion Week, and has been a champion of Roberto Cavalli.

Like other guests the Beckhams contributed to the couple's wedding charity rather than offering a gift.

Beckham spoke recently about the build-up to the wedding, admitting the couple were feeling a little nervous about being part of such a massive event.

He said: 'We are very proud of our Royal family and to be invited to it, we are both excited. Victoria is a little bit worried because she will be a few more months pregnant by then.'

Sir Elton John, one of the most esteemed celebrity guests at the ceremony, arrived with civil partner David Furnish at just before 10am.

While Sir Elton wore a black tail coat and grey trousers with a purple tie, Furnish went for a black suit and grey waistcoat.

But despite a lot of the celebrities going for darker colours for the ceremony, there were some who stood out from the crowd in bright outfits.

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, who yesterday stepped out in a white dress, went for an all-blue outfit - a royal blue dress, shawl, gloves, hat and shoes.

And Joss Stone, usually famous for her bare-footed hippy style, looked smart in a tight red dress, with matching shoes, bag and a cream-coloured hat.

Film director Guy Ritchie, who is actually related to Kate Middleton, arrived with his pregnant girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley, and enjoyed a chat with the Beckhams as they waited to be seated inside the Abbey.

TV presenter Ben Fogle also went for a bright addition to his outfit with a bright blue tie to complement his navy suit, while his pregnant wife Marina opted for a bright green dress with beige coat and matching hat.
