Rock and roll star: Dannii Minogue took baby son Ethan to X Factor rehearsals yesterday and protected his ears with special baby headphones
She may have his best interests at heart.
But in years to come, Dannii Minogue's baby boy Ethan may well be cursing his mother for giving him girly pink noise-reducing headphones to wear.
The X Factor judge took the five-month-old tot along with her to rehearsals ahead of the live show this weekend.
But while the headphones may have spared his hearing, they certainly won't save his blushes when the family photo album comes out when he reaches his adolescent years.
Video footage of Dannii holding Ethan and waving his hand to the cameras was played on the X Factor spin-off show the Xtra Factor on ITV2 last night - perfect material to embarrass him in front of his future girlfriend one day.
Host Konnie Huq said: 'Danni visited us in rehearsals today with a very special visitor who's getting into music from a very early age.'
The video was then played on the big screens above the X Factor stage as a chorus of 'awwww's rang out among the audience.
Where am I, Mummy? Ethan looked a little overwhelmed but looked happy to get the attention at the same time
Konnie said: 'How cute is he? Look at those cute little earmuffs.'
And Cheryl could be heard gushing: 'Oh my god, oh my god, that is too cute.'
And as doting mum Dannii proudly beamed round at everyone, Simon raised a laugh when he said: 'And they are on sale in all good retailers, the headphones.'
Doting grandmother: Dannii's partner Kris Smith's mother carries Ethan safely out of the X Factor studios on Saturday night
Dannii, 39, and her partner, former model Kris Smith, 33, welcomed Ethan into the world in July, the couple's first child.
Dannii took to her Twitter page last night after finding out that her remaining act, Matt Cardle, had made it through to the X Factor final.
She wrote, 'whoop!' before posting a video of herself and Matt, and apologised for her over-excitement.
