He launched a bitter tirade of words against X Factor winner James Arthur last week.
But now it seems that 2010 winner Matt Cardle is getting a taste of his own medicine as the Impossible singer has bit back in a thinly disguised Twitter rant.

After maintaining that he was more successful than James seeing as he had sold two million records, Matt has had to face the former pub singer's wrath:

'2 million returned and now live in the bargain bin at asda give it up the tunes are brutal.. the desperation for press is embarrassing,' he wrote on Twitter on Friday, alluding to Matt's claim.

Clearly unimpressed with this dig, Matt wrote: 'It's very very cosy in the bubble.... It really is.'

Out to prove that he was going to be more successful than his predecessor, James went on to say to his followers:

'Platinum single baby! Not a bad start :) thanks to all who bought it now make sure the hillsbrough tune is number 1!! #LOVE.'

And hitting back at Matt's last tweet, he wrote:

'Jealousy is a weak emotion.. Learnt that in the real world where I lived for quite some time..'

James' Twitter fury came a few days after Matt's interview with The Daily Mirror.

'I said, 'Look, James, you're very talented but you haven't sold two million records yet, which I have,' he said.

'You haven't had two top ten albums yet, which I've had. Don't start mouthing off before you've even really left the show,' he added.

Matt, 29, added that James was lying if he said he hadn't compromised himself for the show and added his 'creative input comments' had rubbished the reputation of the X Factor.

The singer may have been feeling hurt after James claimed that he'd be striking out on his own creatively after his win, unlike some of the previous male winners:

'The blokes that have won before have had a niche, they haven't sold records because they haven't made great albums. That's the bottom line,' he said after winning the show.

When We Collide, Matt's winning single went straight to the number 1 spot on Christmas selling 439,000 copies, while James' single Impossible sold 490,000 copies in the first week alone.

James said recently about his album: 'I want to be going into a studio thinking I need to put the best possible twelve tracks or whatever it is out there because I haven’t worked this hard to have my first album flop.

'My album is going to be quite diverse. It’ll have hip hop influences, it’ll have rock influences, it’ll all be self-penned and the collaborations on it will be good ones I think.'

He even plans to crack America, while Matt's new album The Fire has debuted at number 8 in the UK charts.

Simon Cowell has confirmed he is dating Carmen Electra.

'The X Factor' USA judge - who has been spotted on numerous dates with the TV presenter and model recently - has admitted he is smitten with the 40-year-old beauty but insisted she is not his girlfriend yet.

The 53-year-old music mogul opened up to Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday about their budding romance, saying: 'She's not my girlfriend. We're people who date. She's adorable, isn't she?'

'Now, obviously, he's in [Los Angeles] with X Factor and we started to hang out and we became friends ... I think he's a great guy.'

She caused nationwide outrage when she posted a picture of herself posing with a gun to her head in the wake of the Sandy Hook school massacre.

But a tearful Helen Flanagan apologised to the nation on Daybreak on Thursday morning, saying: 'It's the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life'.

Despite posting a tribute tweet about the event just days before, the actress admitted that she hadn't thought about it when posting the picture, which alluded to a hangover.

'It was just a completely out of context tweet, completely. I did the tweet and it was some different pictures in one and it was relating to a hangover,' she explained.

'I treated this picture completely carelessly, like it was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done in my life,' she added.

The former Coronation Street star was condemned as ‘stupid’ and ‘insensitive’ for tweeting the image of herself from an old photoshoot in a lacy black bra earlier this week when the first victims from the shooting were buried.

When asked by Kate Garraway whether she understood the public's reaction, she said:

'Absolutely, I absolutely hated myself for it. I am incredibly sorry and I couldn’t be more sorry. And I tweeted it completely out of context – it was just about this hangover and it was never, I mean I really do – my heart bleeds for all the families.'

Presenter Kate then asked why Helen had thought it appropriate to pose with a gun for a photo shoot in the first place:

'It was in October, seven weeks before this happened. I sometimes forget – none of my friends are in the public eye and I kind of forget that I am in the public eye and I will take more responsibility and realise that I have to be more careful.

'I'm seen as a role model and I will definitely learn a lesson from this but I am truly, truly sorry.'

Hundreds took to social networking sites to criticise the 22-year-old before she removed the offending image and the caption ‘Head ****’.

At first, Helen appeared unable to understand why people were so upset at her actions.

She accused her critics of bullying her, tweeting: ‘I am absolutely disgusted in this. Completely cruel. I will absolutely NOT stand for this kind of bullying.’

Hours later she issued a statement admitting she had ‘posted the picture without thinking’ and accepted it was a huge error.

Anti-gun groups accused her of glamorising violence and questioned her judgment in posing for the pictures in the first place.

Lyn Costello, from Mothers Against Murder And Aggression, said: ‘One can only assume from this picture and the timing of Miss Flanagan’s decision to post it on Twitter that she is either incredibly stupid or completely insensitive.

‘Historically, we have seen that guns are neither sexy nor glamorous, and to seek to display them as such is completely irresponsible. If this is a deliberate attempt to garner publicity, she should be thoroughly ashamed.’

Ahead of her appearance on Daybreak, Helen tweeted a lengthy apology to all of her followers, urging them to watch her on ITV.

'I am going on daybreak this morning to explain the cover of the sun newspaper yesterday which i was obviously completely shocked and truly sickened by,' she wrote

Helen first posted the image, from a series of lingerie photographs, in October.

She decided to publish it again on Monday – the day the first victims of the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, were buried. Twenty children, aged six and seven, and six adults were shot dead by 20-year-old Adam Lanza on Friday.

The stunt was immediately condemned by a relative of one of the victims who said: ‘It’s just ignorance when the eyes of the world are on what happened here. To be posing with a gun like that is insensitive and stupid.’

The actress has seen her profile rise in recent weeks as a result of her appearance in I’m A Celebrity last month.

She wasted no time stripping to her bikini to get in the camp shower – a scene that has become customary among the fame-hungry in the Australian TV jungle.

But Helen appeared only to irk viewers with her ditzy manner and hysterical screams.

After being one of the first to leave the jungle, Miss Flanagan revealed she has suffered bipolar disorder and attention deficit disorder and considered taking her own life in the run-up to quitting Coronation Street last year.

Last night Tory MP Patrick Mercer said: ‘Firearms are intrinsically dangerous so when you handle them you need to do so with respect, and flippancy is never ever sensible. Helen is a role model and should have thought of this before posing like this.’

In her statement yesterday, Miss Flanagan said: ‘I would like to sincerely apologise to the families of the victims of the Connecticut massacre and anyone else who I offended through the picture that I tweeted on Monday.

'I did not mean any offense and the picture was posted without thinking. This was a huge error of judgment on my behalf and as soon as I realised my error I removed the picture immediately.

‘Like the rest of the world, I have looked on in dismay at the tragic events that have unfolded in Connecticut and my thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends.’

He's already amassed a sizeable collection of body art since shooting to fame in One Direction two years ago.

But it would seem Harry Styles' penchant for tattoos is far from over, as he sported a brand new inking on Tuesday night.

The 18-year-old singer, accompanied by his doting girlfriend Taylor Swift, 23, made the Shamrock Tattoo Parlour his first port of call when he jetted into Los Angeles, California, with his One Direction bandmates.

And the star certainly didn't opt for a subtle addition to his collection of etchings, having a large ship design decorate almost all of his upper arm.

Looking a little red and sore, the new tattoo sat next to the large heart Harry already has on his bicep.

In spite of the pain associated with the inking, Harry beamed away as he posed for a photograph with his tattoo artist at Shamrock, which is also a favourite haunt of footballer David Beckham.

Taylor made sure she was close by to hold Harry's hand through the procedure, with the singer chatting to a female pal as her boyband beau went under the needle.

The I Knew You Were Trouble hitmaker appeared to have embraced her grungy new surroundings, taking part in a game of pool with her friend as Harry underwent his newest inking.

Looking stylish in a monochrome swallow-print dress and a slick of red lipstick, the country music star beamed as she posed alongside the One Direction hunk for a series of photos.

But it would seem she wasn't keen to alter her clean-cut image with a tattoo for herself.

Harry has been a big fan of body art for some time, most recently showing off a large pair of birds on his chest, which was etched at Shamrock last month.

On either forearm, the star has the unfinished phrases 'Things I can' and 'Thing's I can't', as well as a series of seemingly random images, including a small padlock - tattooed on by his singer pal Ed Sheeran - two zig zags, a skeleton of a fish and the figure 99p.

The teen idol also has a large star on his inner arm, and recently added the song lyrics 'won't stop 'till we surrender' from The Temper Trap track Sweet Disposition beneath it.

Additionally, Harry currently has a tiny 'A' in the crook of his elbow, which is believed to be a tribute to his mother, Anne Cox, who he is extremely close to, as well as '17 black' etched on his collar bone, an Iced Gem, comedy and tragedy drama masks, a birdcage and the words SMCL.

The words SMCL have led some fans to speculate it means 'smile more, cry later' or 'Simon Cowell' - who famously put the band together on X Factor two years ago.

The star was previously believed to be planning on opting for a full sleeve to add to his collection of 'personal' etchings.

The One Direction boys arrived at Los Angeles' LAX Airport on Tuesday morning, but it is not clear why they have returned to the US so near to Christmas.

She famously admitted her chronic cocaine use left her without a septum, but Daniella Westbrook has now revealed the shocking new depths she sunk to while in the grips of her costly addiction.

Appearing on a festive special of hit daytime drama The Jeremy Kyle show, the former EastEnders star wept as she admitted she did a line of cocaine during her son's birth and used to steal money from her own husband to stay high.

The blonde actress, who is now a born again Christian, broke down as she admitted she asked people to leave the delivery room while she was giving birth to Kai, so she could snort the Class A drug.

And her confession carried on as she revealed her toddler son had to watch her breakdown from a 'cocaine convulsion.'

Speaking to an unusually calm Kyle, London-born Daniella, 39, said: 'I was in a terrible state.

'I had a cocaine convulsion and my three year old son was trying to put a Mars Bar in my mouth, trying to make me come round.'

She admitted: 'I stole from him, I was taking drugs.

'I was three months pregnant and he just put me on a plane to Arizona, I was so drugged up I didn't know what was happening.

'The first two weeks I was a terrible person, but then I just thought "I need to do this"'.

And Daniella, who has been clean for 12 years, is proud of her ability to conquer her cocaine addiction.

She said she turned to the bottle and ended up seeing a doctor who prescribed her heavy medication.

She told Kyle: 'I was really down. I went to see a mental health doctor and I said I was really, really ill and I had started drinking.

'I am now on a lot of medication.'

And Daniella, who featured on the festive show with Kerry Katona, said she was incredibly excited to meet Kyle as she is a massive fan of the show.

Happy to be home, she tweeted: 'There's no place like home! I'm soooo tied! Finally a day off tomorrow! Can't wait to sleep in, in my very own bed!'

Wearing a pair of grey skinny jeans with a black vest top and blazer, Kardashian looked chic as she headed towards the exit all the while signing autographs and posing for pictures.

On Tuesday Kim posted a montage to her Instagram account which showed her in the process of getting her hair styled.

Kardashian allowed her hair stylist Chris McMillan to get to work with a pair of scissors as she debuted her bangs.

Keen to let her 5.7million Instagram followers as well as her 16million Twitter fans see her new do, Kim wasted no time uploading a collage of herself to the social networks.

In the images, Chris can be seen tousling Kim's hair into shape as she sits still wearing a white robe.

Agreeing, her younger sister Kendall added: 'might be saying bye bye to Instagram...hope something changes.'

And Khloe chimed in writing: 'Wow…I just read over Instagram’s new policy...so sad, looks like I might be deleting my instagram after Jan 16. I hope something changes.'
