By Royal invitation: Charlotte Casiraghi attended the screening of Once Upon A Time In America in Cannes on Friday night

Her grandmother was considered the most beautiful woman in the world, and Charlotte Casiraghi is clearly following in her footsteps.

The Monaco royal easily eclipsed the Hollywood stars when she attended a screening of Once Upon A Time In American in Cannes on Friday.

The 25-year-old only lives up the road, and she popped down to grace the red carpet.

Charlotte dazzled in a ruffled gown by Gucci, which featured a deep V-neckline and a thigh-high slit.

Princess Caroline's daughter is the face of the Italian fashion house, and did a stellar job as their ambassador in the design.

Charlotte accessorised with stacked gold bangles and strappy heels, and cascading curls that tumbled around her shoulders.

She attended the screening with French actor Charles Berlin, who gripped her arm protectively as he led her down the red carpet.

Charlotte was announced as the face of Gucci in March and has already shot an equestrian-styled campaign for the brand.

It was through their love of horses that Charlotte bonded with Gucci creative director Frida Giannini.

Giannini told Grazia in March: 'Over the last two years I have had the pleasure and privilege to get to know Charlotte through our shared passion for horses.

'She not only embodies the beauty and the grace of the equestrian, but is also a wonderful ambassador for the sport.'

Miss Casiraghi was equally full of praise for Ms Giannini, adding: 'I admire Frida’s talent as a designer and she has really managed to reinvent the codes of Gucci by giving them a modern twist and a timeless elegance.'
