Loved up: Eliza Doolittle confirmed her relationship with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden as they strolled the streets of LA, very aware of the paparazzi

They've been tweeting each other a few harmless messages over the past month, but Eliza Doolittle has now revealed very publicly that she is dating Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden.

The English songstress walked hand-in-hand with Paris Hilton's ex yesterday on the streets of Los Angeles.

She beamed and put her arm around her new man's shoulders, so the paparazzi could get their shots.

They looked at ease, with Benji tapping away on his phone, before the couple went into a French restaurant to eat.

Eliza, 23, took advantage of the warmer weather across the Atlantic, stepping out in just a T-shirt and a checked shirt.

Her 32-year-old beau covered up more in a leather jacket and black jeans.

Benji appears to have been spending a lot of time in London lately, tweeting about his escapades and name-dropping several English celebs, including Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah and Samantha Ronson.

Comfortable together: The couple clearly didn't care who was watching, as they walked hand-in-hand, Benji preoccupied on his phone

Me and my beau: The couple have been sending each other harmless texts over the past month but have not been spotted together until now

Some of his comments have been a play on words of the first part of Eliza's last name.

On December 6 he wrote: 'Life is GOOD when you DOO what you LOVE'.

Eliza re-tweeted the comment and Benji said the next day: 'Just DOO It,' which is the same motto Eliza has on her Twitter page.

Last month, he teased her about England's penchant for beans on toast, and she wrote: 'I have officially converted @benjaminmadden to an @Arsenal fan ! Wooooooo !'

Are they singing? The pair looked like they were having a great time as they headed into a French restaurant for a bite to eat

Eliza has obviously broken up with childhood friend Ollie, who she dated for about three-and-a-half years.

She was last seen with him in April, looking smitten as she planted a kiss on his lips on primrose Hill.

Last June, she spoke about the relationship: 'Two and a half years ago I got together with Ollie, a hip-hop rapper, who I’ve known since I was 12. I’m in love and really happy.'

It's over: Eliza looked very much in love with her boyfriend of three-and-a-half years, Ollie, back in April as the pair locked lips on Primrose Hill

But when asked about marriage and children, she said: 'It’s not going to happen for a long time because Ollie and I are still so young. It’s nice to talk about it, because if you don’t think it’s what you want some day, then maybe you’re in the wrong relationship.'

Meanwhile Benji, who is the twin brother of Nicole Richie's husband Joel Madden, most recently dated Hugh Hefner's ex 'number one girlfriend' Holly Madison.

But they broke up in January after only two months.

He was in a high-profile relationship with Nicole's best friend Paris Hilton for nine months in 2008.

Before that, he was engaged to Australian model Sophie Monk.

Split: Benji dated Paris Hilton for nine months in 2008 and before that was engaged to model Sophie Monk, who he is pictured with during a reunion this year after getting a new neck tattoo

Playing with a playmate: Benji also dated Hugh Hefner's former 'number one girlfriend' Holly Madison this year

It's over: Katherine Jenkins and Gethin Jones, pictured at Royal Ascot in June, have split up after four years together

Katherine Jenkins and Gethin Jones are 'heart-broken' after calling off their engagement.

The Welsh couple, who have been dating since 2007, have mutually decided to end their relationship.

The classical singer, 31, and TV presenter, 33, both revealed their split with simultaneous announcements on their Twitter pages.

Devastated Jenkins wrote: 'Sorry for being quiet of late, its just that I have some very sad news. Geth & I have decided to go our separate ways.

'We are both beyond broken hearted. All your hugs & support will be much appreciated xxx.'

And her ex-fiancé added: 'Hi everybody. I'm deeply sad to tell you that Kath and I have ended our relationship as a couple. We are both heart broken... Gx.'

The pair started dating in late 2007 after meeting on the set of Strictly Come Dancing, which Jones was participating in, while Jenkins was a guest performer.

Heartbreak: The TV presenter confirmed the split on his Twitter page

The couple, who shared a £4.7million home in Richmond, South West London, announced their engagement in February after the presenter proposed with a £10,000 diamond ring on a boat in Mexico the previous month.

In October, Jenkins told the MailOnline they were struggling to find time in their busy schedules to set a wedding date.

She said: '2012 is such a huge year, we’ve got the Olympics happening, the Queen’s Jubilee, my sister turns 30, there’s so many things happening that it doesn’t leave us with much time.

Tennis fans: The couple together at Wimbledon in July

'We will do it, just not yet. There’s no rush. We will get round it.'

And in interview with the Mail On Sunday's You magazine a few weeks ago, Jenkins said she was looking forward to starting a family with her handsome boyfriend.

She enthused: 'I'd like to have a family of my own - slip away for a bit and do nothing but spend those early years with my children.

'I'd like to think I can come back, but I believe children are a gift and I want to enjoy them some time in the next few years. Gethin does too.'

As she skied elegantly down the slopes at her favourite winter resort of Klosters in Switzerland earlier this month, there was no denying Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s fabulous physique.

However, a closer inspection of pictures reveal the former It-Girl’s face is virtually unrecognisable. At 40, she appears to have developed the soaring eyebrows, triangular visage and slanting eyes so familiar on many famous women.

Stars such as Kylie Minogue, Carla Bruni, Lulu and Madonna are just some of those who’ve begun sporting facial features so feline that they’re now being dubbed the ‘Celebrity Cat Club’. It’s usually the next step on from the ‘pillow face’, where so much filler is pumped into cheeks, they begin to look unnaturally plump.

TARA PALMER-TOMKINSON (left). Adrian Richards, of Aurora Clinics, says: 'Her eyebrows are much higher, usually the result of Botox. KYLIE MINOGUE (right). She denies using Botox but her high brows, plump cheeks and glossy forehead giver her a kittenish look

But what measures do these women have to take to get the distinctive cat-faced look made infamous by the so-called Bride of Wildenstein — former millionaire art dealer’s wife Jocelyn Wildenstein — in the late 1990s?

Dirk Kremer, a Harley Street plastic surgeon, explains: ‘While the “pillow face” is caused by using too much filler, the “cat face” is the result of having too much of everything — all done badly. Those soaring eyebrows occur when too much Botox is given, especially in the centre of the forehead. This makes it very smooth and can cause the centre of the brows to drop.

‘The outer edges of the eyebrows then fly up in a very artificial way. It’s a kind of Fifties diva look that is ridiculous on most women.

‘The second element of the cat face is cheek fillers. If too much is put in, the enlarged cheek presses against the eye, making it look smaller and slanted. This is especially obvious if the woman is smiling.

‘Too much filler also gives the face a triangular look: wide at the cheekbones and comparatively narrow at the jaw. In moderation, this is a youthful shape; but in excess, it just adds to the feline quality. And if Botox has always been used to eliminate any lines, the smooth, artificial, cat-like shape is further emphasised.’

MADONNA (left). The Material Girl is rumoured to have had thread lifts to raise sagging cheeks, plus Botox and copious fillers. CARLA BRUNI (right). According to surgeon Alex Karidis, she's overused Botox and fillers, hence the hamster cheeks and odd eyes

TRUDI STYLER (left). Sting's wife once said people who eat too much stodge get 'carb faces' Is her feline face any better. JOAN RIVERS (right). A fan of cosmetic surgery since 1965, Joan's subsequent facelifts have all been augmented with Botox and filler

But why, when the cat look is so strange, do so many celebrities end up slipping into it?

Plastic surgeon Rajiv Grover, from London’s King Edward VII Hospital, says: ‘Studies show the central facial triangle is a major element of the beauty of the young face. Full cheeks act as a “pedestal” for the eyes, enhancing their appearance.’ The theory is that plumping up our cheeks makes us look more youthful and returns us to our former beauty.

Dr Kremer adds: ‘Fillers in moderation can be amazingly rejuvenating. Celebrities try them and get a lot of compliments. So they think: “Why not put in more and look even better?”

‘But by insisting on the same dose at shorter intervals, they can forget what they used to look like and lose all sense of proportion and reality.’

PRISCILLA PRESLEY (left). A fake cosmetic 'doctor' injected her face with illegal industrial silicone - and went to jail. CAPRICE BOURRET (right). The model purred that 'good genes', not Botox, were the reason for her youthful features

Plastic surgeon Dr Marco Lens says he regularly sees the ‘cat face’ in his Harley Street surgery. ‘Women come to me because they know they don’t look right, but don’t know why,’ he says. ‘By blowing up their faces like a balloon, they don’t look younger, but like old women trying to look younger.’

So it’s not surprising that some celebrities are learning the lessons of those who have gone too far with Botox and fillers.

Instead, actresses Jennifer Aniston and Anna Friel choose treatments like peels, gentle lasers and skin-tightening such as Pelleve that help to improve the texture, elasticity, clarity and firmness of skin. The result is a more elegant, natural look.

The good news about temporary fillers is that they wear off in between four and 18 months, depending on their thickness. Botox also wears off after four to six months.

So, in most cases, an accidental cat face will vanish of its own accord.

Confidence: Dawn French departs from Heathrow Airport and shows off her legs for the first time in years, today

The 54-year-old comic was dressed all in black but for the first time in many years showed off her legs as she got ready to fly to America.

Dawn wore a long double breasted coat with a an above the knee dress and black boots.

The silhouette of her legs was the clearest view we have ever had of her newly trim body as she almost always used to wear trousers or long dresses.

Fingers crossed: Holly Valance recreates a famous scene in the 1960 movie The Millionairess, which starred siren Sophia Loren, as she promotes EuroMillions

It's not secret that Holly Valance's man has a bit of money in the bank.

And now that she's marrying him, the Australian singer is set to become a millionairess, or rather, billionairess.

So it's fitting that she has recreated a pose, from the 1960 film The Millionairess, made famous by Italian screen siren, Sophia Loren.

In a new EuroMillions campaign, the 28-year-old can be seen in a sexy corset and knickers with stockings hoisted up by suspenders.

She adds some old Hollywood glamour with a massive hat, white gloves and peep-toe heels with a circle of diamonds on each one.

Years gone by: Sophia played an arrogant heiress who married to please her father, in the film which was set in London

Her blonde hair is pulled back and tiny pearl earrings are added to the ensemble.

Holly holds her left hand up and crosses her fingers - urging EuroMillions players to check their tickets to see if they are a missing Christmas millionaire.

But she has nothing on Sophia, now 77, who, at 26, was two years younger than Holly when she starred in the movie, set in London.

World's apart: Holly, 28, mirrored the scene made famous by Italian Oscar-winner Sophia, now 77

The Oscar-winner played an arrogant heiress who married to please her fathe.

The Strictly Come Dancing star Holly last week recreated a scene from another famous movie, One Million Years B.C.

The then 26-year-old Raquel Welch, now 71, played cave girl Loana in the 1966 film.

Holly showed off the results of her gruelling dancing schedule in her own fur bikini, as she posed on some rocks with her fingers crossed.

She's at it again: Last week, the star recreated this sexy pose from the 1966 film, One Million B.C., made famous by Raquel Welch

No doubt Holly's fiance, property developer Nick Candy, will be a proud man when he sees the photos.

The former Neighbours star took to her Twitter page last week to announce he had got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

Nick, 38, who has been dating the star for three years, whisked her away to the Maldives on Wednesday for a Christmas break, and proposed to her on the beach with the words 'Will you marry me' written in fire.

And Holly took to her Twitter page to post the photo of him proposing and wrote: ' 'And I said YES!!! ♥ Happiest day of my life!!!!! Xxxx.'

Sign of trouble? Russell Brand stepped out for a shopping trip in London today without his wedding ring on

Russell Brand stepped out without his wedding ring today amid rumours of marriage trouble.

The comedian, 36, was spotted on a solo shopping trip in London after spending Christmas 7,000 miles apart from his wife Katy Perry.

He happily soaked up the love from fans during his outing and even posed up for a photograph with a delighted blonde shopper.

But the Arthur star's sparkling diamond band, which matches the singer's wedding bling, was noticeably absent from his left hand.

Katy was not wearing her ring either while holidaying in Hawaii over the festive season.

The couple decided to spend Christmas apart after huge argument, it has been claimed.

A source is quoted as telling Us Weekly magazine: 'They had a massive fight. She was like, "F*** you. I'm going to do my own thing."

Meanwhile the source said that Russell replied: 'Fine, f*** you too.'
The source added: 'They haven't split up just yet, but things are not good. The fighting is getting worse.'

Katy, 27, was seen lapping up the fine weather in Hawaii on December 25 with a group of friends while comedian Brand was seen in a pub in Cornwall, England.

Soaking up the love: The comedian was happy to pose with a pretty blonde fan on the street

Is it Katy on the line? The comedian looks deep in conversation with someone on his cellphone inside a store

What's on your mind? Russell looked a little preoccupied as he looked at clothes in a London shop

The couple were said to have planned Christmas together with reports Katy was going to jet her family in a private plane over to the UK to celebrate together.

In November, Brand's mother Barbara had tweeted she was looking forward to spending the festive season with her son and daughter-in-law.

She wrote on Twitter: 'Spoke to Russell and Katy, they are so happy, it's lovely. We will all be together for Christmas.'

Oceans apart: Katy Perry spent Christmas in Hawaii while her husband was in Cornwall

Getaway spot: The house in Coverack, Cornwall where Russell spent Christmas with David Baddiel

A spokesperson for the couple has not yet commented and neither Katy nor Russell have alluded to their relationship on Twitter.

The couple, who married in October last year after a whirlwind romance, have gone out of their way lately to quash speculation that their marriage is on shaky ground.

She has previously used Twitter to dismiss marriage rumours. She tweeted: ‘Just cause we don’t flaunt our relationship doesn’t mean there’s something wrong w/it. Privacy is our luxury. ’

Family ties: David and Victoria Beckham joined his sisters Lynne (front) and Joanne (to his right) for her birthday dinner in London last night

Living in Los Angeles for most of the year, the Beckhams don't see a lot of their respective families.

So when David realised it was his sister Joanne's 30th birthday, he decided to arrange a surprise party to celebrate - despite the fact that her big day isn't until next February.

And from her tweets, Joanne had no idea that David, 36, and Victoria, 37, had arranged the surprise dinner for his younger sibling.

She knew she was going to her favourite restaurant Roka, a modern Japanese place in the heart of Fitzrovia in central London.

But she was surprised to see her close friends and family there and Tweeted: 'Aww turned up at my fav restaurant and can't believe my close friends and family was here !!!! Amazin !!! So happy.'

The family were joined by their other sister Lynne, 38, for the occasion.

Me and my bro: Joanne later shared a posed-up picture of her and David on her Twitter page

Celebrations: Joanne was presented with a huge cake by her family and friends, despite her birthday not being until February

Joanne later wrote on her Twitter page: 'My bday is feb 19th and I will b 30 but we celerbrated early jus in case my big bro wasn't here !! Had a amazin nite.'

And clearly David was delighted to see his sister so happy that he arranged for a group photo that he promptly posted on his Facebook page and wrote: 'Merry Xmas everyone....just at my little sister Jo's birthday party tonight.'

Birthday treat: Joanne tweeted her happiness at seeing her friends and family at her special dinner

Beckham can be seen beaming at the back of the photo with the birthday girl right next to him on his right and his eldest sister Lynne in front.

And the cheeky footballer couldn't resist acting a bit childishly as he put two fingers up behind Joanne's head.

Victoria stood off to the side on the right in between two of Joanne's friends as someone captured the moment.

Happy days: David posted this picture of him about to tuck into a big plate of pie and mash

David enjoyed Tony's pie and mash in Waltham Abbey

But clearly the fancy Japanese food wasn't enough for David, who has probably been craving some good old English food while in the US.

Because he posted another picture to his Facebook page, this time just off him looking very happy as he posed with a big bowl of food at a pie and mash shop in London.

Radiant: Sinead O'Connor glowed with happiness as she married Barry Herridge in Las Vegas... but she looked much different emerging from her house not long after announcing the union had ended after just 16 days

She looked radiant, on top of the world and very pretty in her long strapless pink dress as she married for the fourth time in Las Vegas.

But not long after announcing that the union had come to an end after just 16 days, Sinead O'Connor emerged from her house looking tired, stressed and grey-haired.

Gone was the pretty frock and instead she came to the door in nothing but a towel before hurriedly changing into a T-shirt and jeans.

Over before it started: Sinead was snapped at the door of her home in Bray in a bath towel, after admitting her marriage begun to unravel within three hours of the ceremony

The singer announced on Boxing Day that her 'dream' fourth marriage, to youth counsellor Barry Herridge, had ended after just 16 days.

The 45-year-old revealed on her website that the marriage was in trouble just three hours after the Las Vegas ceremony, when people close to her 38-year-old husband tried to ‘kybosh’ it.

But despite the brevity of the union, it could take years for the marriage to be legally dissolved, with Irish law requiring a four-year separation.

Wedded bliss: Sinéad announced the end of her 16-day marriage this week, however according to Irish law a divorce will only be granted after a four-year separation

Sinéad posted a statement on her personal website stating that she had decided to end the marriage on Christmas Eve after just seven days of domesticity.

She wrote: ‘There was intense pressure placed upon him by certain people in his life, not to be involved with me. These were people who had never met me but had formed opinions of me based on what they read about “Sinéad O’Connor” in the media, etc’.

But she admitted that her husband had also been very upset by a ‘wild ride’ they took to try and buy marijuana on their wedding night, as she doesn’t drink alcohol.

‘My husband was enormously wounded and very badly affected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage,’ she said.

Miss O’Connor’s and Mr Herridge flew out to Las Vegas on her 45th birthday and married that day.

But despite its apparent spontaneity, the couple will now have to wait four years to legally end their brief union.

The Little White Wedding chapel confirmed to the Mail that the marriage certificate the couple signed was a legally binding contract.

Brief: The 45-year-old singer revealed on her website that the marriage was in trouble just three hours after the Las Vegas ceremony, when people close to her 38-year-old husband tried to ‘kybosh’ it

According to a staff member, both Miss O’Connor and Mr Herridge were made aware of the implications of the ceremony before they tied the knot. And a spokesman from the Las Vegas church confirmed that the couple would have to take legal action to dissolve the wedding.

She said: ‘All of our ceremonies are legally binding. Occasionally, we do get couples who renew their vows. But they are the only two types of service that we do.

We can’t comment on any individual weddings but all the processes are legally binding. They are made aware of that when they decide to marry with us.’

Marianna Fritz, a consultant with Irish Divorce Services, said the couple would be forced to wait at least four years before applying to terminate the marital contract.

‘It doesn’t matter whether you get married in Las Vegas, Australia or Ireland – the procedure is the same,’ said Miss Fritz.

‘First, they must be separated for four years and only then can they apply to have the marriage dissolved and, at that point, it is relatively straightforward.’

Alternatively, Miss O’Connor and Mr Herridge could apply to have the marriage annulled – that is, to have it declared legally void, as if it had never happened. But according to Miss Fritz this is an extremely difficult and costly procedure.

‘They are entitled to apply, but with an annulment, you must use solicitors which is an extremely costly avenue. It is also very difficult, as there are only three, maybe four conditions that a court will accept. If either party is intoxicated or under the influence of any substances. Or if they can prove that they aren’t in a sane state of mind. Or if one of the parties is homosexual.

‘Basically, once the couple have consummated the marriage it is not easy to have it annulled.’

Miss O’Connor was not at her seafront home in Bray, Co. Wicklow, yesterday. However, she posted a humorous message on her front door stating: ‘Dearest loving hacks. This is your quote: rock’n’roll.’

The wedding to Mr Herridge was to be the fairy-tale ending to the singer’s search for love, which she launched last summer across Twitter and on The Late Late Show, even attending the annual matchmaking festival in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare.

'Wild ride': O'Connor revealed a 'wild' journey she took on their wedding night in search of marijuana 'as she doesn't drink' wounded her husband

Then the singer shocked the nation by writing a series of candid blogs on her website, detailing what she was looking for in a man.

She wrote in September that she was in ‘desperate need of a very sweet, sex-starved man,’ but specified that he ‘must be no younger than 44, must not be named Brian or Nigel, must be blind enough to think I’m gorgeous, has to be employed and he has to like his mother.’

Inundated with thousands of replies, Miss O’Connor selected just one man to go on a date with – her future husband.

‘Barry sent me this wonderful email, which just took my heart away. It had to be him,’ said the mother of four.

Originally from Donaghmede, north Dublin, but now living in nearby Raheny, Mr Herridge revealed the contents of the email that kickstarted the relationship.

‘I was getting off a train at Connolly Station one morning when I saw this woman acting strangely on the platform. At first I didn’t know what she was doing and then I realised she was playing hopscotch. It wasn’t Sinéad but a businesswoman in a suit and in her 30s, just having a bit of fun.’

Legally binding: A spokesperson for the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas confirmed that the couple would have to take legal action to dissolve the wedding

He added: ‘I wondered why more women that age weren’t doing the same thing. And it struck me that this was exactly what Sinéad was doing with her search for love, having fun, and I told Sinéad about this woman in my first email.’

The story struck a chord with Miss O’Connor, who invited the paediatric psychotherapist out on a date last August. A coffee shop on Dublin’s South William Street was the setting for their first face-to-face meeting and it was love at first sight.

On December 7, the couple announced their intention to marry, using the Today FM Breakfast Show to get the happy news out to the nation.

The singer kept the happy news quiet when she appeared on the Ian Dempsey programme the previous day, telling him she had no gossip to share. But Barry rang the show on Wednesday morning to let the cat out of the bag.

Dempsey wrote on his Twitter page: ‘So Sinéad O’Connor was holding back yesterday. Boyfriend Barry Herridge got back to us today to reveal that they will wed tomorrow. ‘And it’s Sinéad’s birthday tomorrow too. Congrats to them both. And Sinéad’s new album is sounding great too.’

Annulment unlikely: Divorce specialists say only three or four conditions will be accepted by a court in order to grant a costly annulment and if the marriage is consummated it is highly unlikely

But by St Stephen’s Day, the controversial singer was composing a letter to break the news of her fourth marriage’s failure – to forestall, she said, another version leaking out.

She said she had decided to split with Mr Herridge as she couldn’t stand to see his life and career ruined through his association with her.

‘It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear. And that being with me was not going to serve him positively, career wise or any other wise.’

She added; ‘I saw his life leave him because of how people close to him reacted. And I can’t take anyone’s life. And a woman wants to be a joy to her husband. So, you love someone? Set them free. He is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I’m sorry I’m not a more regular woman.’

She also vowed not to let her latest failed relationship get her down. ‘The marriage was 16 days. We lived together for 7 days only. Until Xmas eve. And we haven’t been awful to each other. I am in a good place in life. And happy. As my good friend said “Well, at least you got married in Vegas in a pink Cadillac! Can’t get more Rock’n’Roll than that.”’
