He has become a household name playing stumbling family man Adam in the long-running advertisement campaign for BT.

However, after seven years, it it the end of the line for actor Kris Marshall after the telecommunications company pulled the plug on the advertisement campaign.

For years viewers have watched Marshall's character Adam go from being a boyfriend and step-father to a husband and family man with his partner 'Jane'.


However, just six months after viewers saw Marshall's on-screen marriage to co-star Esther Hall, BT has decided the couple's 'story' has run its course, it has been reported.

A spokeswoman confirmed Marshall was leaving and told the Daily Mirror: Kris has been an integral part of the extremely successful and much-loved BT Family adverts.'

Marshall, who also featured in BBC sitcom My Family and the film Love Actually, is to make his final appearance as Adam next month.

His co-star Hall will still occasionally make an appearance in BT's next advertisement campaign, which will move away from the family theme.

In October, the actor was banned from driving for six months after he admitted dodging a breath test.

The 38-year-old was found asleep in his Jaguar by police in the car park of a Tesco near his home after a night out drinking.

After police spotted a key in the car's ignition, he was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and in charge of a vehicle.

However Marshall told magistrates he thought he was being responsible by sleeping in the car rather than driving home and was annoyed at being arrested.

He decided to 'avoid giving a specimen' and failed to seal his lips properly around a breathalyser during an 'official' test at a police station.

Marshall pleaded guilty to failing to supply a specimen of breath on September 30.

Marshall was banned for six months after the court heard he had also been caught on a mobile at the wheel and already had three points on his licence for speeding.
