Romantic dinner date: Victoria and David Beckham put their failed libel case behind them as they enjoyed a Valentine's meal at NYC last night

While their libel case against a U.S. magazine over prostitute claims may have been thrown out of court, David and Victoria Beckham put on a show of unity and enjoyed a romantic Valentine’s night out in New York yesterday.

David jetted across the pond to join Victoria, 36, who is currently preparing for New York Fashion Week and last night was the first Valentine’s Day the pair have spent together in seven years owing to hectic work schedules.

The 35-year-old footballer treated his fashion designer wife to an intimate dinner at Minetta Tavern in the Big Apple.

David has vowed to fight on after a US judge dismissed his libel and slander lawsuit against celebrity magazine InTouch.

The footballer's lawyer said after the hearing:'Any knowledgeable person knows this story not to be true, we will continue to fight this in court and the decision will be appealed.'

But while David is gearing up to fight the decision he and Victoria put the issue to one side last night.

Victoria, who is due to give birth in the summer was looking as slender as ever as she emerged from the dinner date in a nude asymmetrical dress and matching overcoat held together to conceal her baby bump from view.

David, who has taken to sporting a number of English heritage looks was dressed in a black tartan suit with his hair slicked back and displayed a spotted pocked scarf and a silver tie clip.

And although Victoria is juggling pregnancy with a hectic work schedule she was looking tanned and glowing as she emerged from the New York eatery.

Before visiting his wife, David had spent the weekend with his three sons in Britain at Old Trafford stadium to watch the Manchester United vs Manchester City derby.

The football legend was happy to watch his old club beat City 2-1 and happily signed autographs for fans after the match.
