Mid Century Modern: Jennifer Aniston has purchased a house in Bel Air for $21 million
Jennifer Aniston is the proud new owner of an 8,500 square foot mansion in the affluent Los Angeles neighbourhood of Bel Air. And she got it for a steal.
The original asking price was $24,900,000 million, but it the Friends star is believed to have got it for the bargain price of $21 million.
The 3.5 acre property, perched on the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains, is in a gated community which is home to stars including Nicholas Cage, Hugh Hefner and Lauren Bacall.
But the timing of the purchase will do nothing to dampen rumours that she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Justin Theroux.
The stories began after Aniston reportedly told her agents that she needed a break and did not want to commit to any more movies for the foreseeable future.
But perhaps this decision is due to the actress star wanting to just spend some quality time with her boyfriend of eight months or renovate her new house.
The luxurious mid-century abode is described as having 'absolute privacy and a marvelous open floor plan with walls of glass. Perfect for an indoor outdoor lifestyle and ideal for entertaining.'
Designed by A. Quincy Jones, the house has 4 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms and unobstructed city and ocean views.
'I entertain for a living, and I entertain,' Aniston told Architectural Digest magazine in an interview last year when her 10,000-square-foot home was featured in Architectural Digest after she gave it an eco-friendly overhaul including solar panels.
Sprawling: The property has four bedrooms, six bathrooms and even a vineyard
Secluded: The property is high in the hills and, as such, will be a private haven for Jennifer and Justin
It also features a separate guest house, swimmers' pool, a vineyard and wine cellar and a projection room.
Jennifer is turning out to be a canny real estate investor, she sold her Beverly Hills mansion for $37 million last year.
Lap of luxury: The house features a swimmers' pool, a spa and a guest house
Sophisticated: The pool is the perfect way to relax on Jennifer and Justin's days off
She purchased the one acre property for $13.5 million in 2006 but undertook a major remodel including a sophisticated security system and a paparazzi-proof fence.
Jennifer also said her favorite room in a house is the kitchen.
She fondly remembers sitting on her parents’ kitchen counter as a kid, talking and laughing.
Vineyard with a view: The property has a vinyard and unobstructed views of Los Angeles
Nice space: The property will no doubt prove the perfect lovenest for Jen and Justin
She still finds that the kitchen is the place she ends up most often.
Jennifer's love of renovating properties was inspired by ex-husband Brad Pitt , who has dabbled in architecture.
The couple bought a 10,000-sq.ft French Normandy house in Beverly Hills for about $13.5 million.
Paparazzi proof: Jennifer installed a sophisticated paparazzi proof security system at her last home

They then spent two years refurbishing it and are now selling it as part of their divorce settlement for $28 million when he left for for Angelina Jolie.
Asked if she enjoyed the process of creating the home, she said: 'Yes, Designing a house is like doing a movie.
'Once you’re done, you want to say, "I hope you all enjoy it.'' '
